Privacy Statement

The Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia (IBABC), a trade association incorporated under the Society Act of B.C., provides member services and education and examinations for pre-licensing, licensing courses and continuing education for general insurance brokers in B.C.

IBABC collects information about member brokerages and about licensees who enroll in IBABC education offerings. IBABC only collects personal information for the purposes identified, does so with consent, and within a legal and ethical framework. IBABC employs appropriate security measures in the collection, use, storage and disposal of information.

What information does IBABC collect and how is it used?

Brokerages – IBABC collects information about brokerages that apply for membership in order to determine membership eligibility, and to provide services to member brokerages. General information about member brokerages is made available to the public on the Broker Finder function at IBABC's websites. Member brokerages have access to the Job Board and post their own information at their own discretion. IBABC does not sell or share membership lists. IBABC also collects general information on businesses and individuals registering for or participating in events organized by IBABC.

Individuals – IBABC requests only the information necessary for effective enrollment of students in education courses, seminars and exams. That information is not shared with any third parties, except with the student’s express consent. Students' marks or completion results are provided directly to them and are not shared with any third party, except with written consent. Click here for consent form.

IBABC also collects information about individuals who volunteer on IBABC committees, task forces and working groups, or to provide services to them.

Websites – IBABC's website ( uses "cookies", which are very small files that some Internet sites send to your browser. These files are stored on the hard drive of your computer and can be used to identify you whenever you access a web site. If you have concerns about this, you can change the setting on your web browser to not accept cookies or to display warning messages when cookies are about to be used.
